Liposuction in Paris 16
Surgeon specialising in liposuction of the face and body
The abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, saddlebags, neck, face and buttocks are all areas that may have excess fat despite a healthy weight, a balanced diet and regular exercise. Liposuction removes this localised excess fat.
Liposuction of the face and body, also known as liposuction, makes it possible to radically and permanently remove these areas of storage in order to restore a harmonious figure.

What does liposuction involve?
Liposuction of the face and body, also known as liposuction, is a surgical procedure that uses suction to remove localised and persistent excess fat despite a balanced diet and regular exercise.
It is intended for patients with localised excess fat despite a healthy lifestyle and stable weight.
The areas of localised fat that can be treated by liposuction are: the abdominal belt, flanks, back, saddlebags, arms, front of the thighs, knees, neck, face, etc.
Abdominal etching is a technique developed to define the figure and highlight the muscles, particularly those of the abdominal muscles.
The fat removed can then be reinjected into other areas of the body, such as the breasts or buttocks, to reshape them.
The technique used during liposuction
Liposuction is carried out by means of millimetric mini-incisions, through which cannulas (a few millimetres in diameter) are passed to suck out the excess fat. These mini millimetre incisions are easily concealed by underwear or in the natural folds of the skin.
The amount of excess fat removed depends on the patient, his or her skin quality, and the objective defined by the surgeon and the patient during the consultation.liposuction is generally performed under general anaesthetic on an outpatient basis. An infiltration of a local anaesthetic helps to relieve postoperative pain.
The advantage of this method lies in the pure and simple removal of the fat cells (adipocytes), which will not be able to reform, making it possible to remove excess fat permanently. However, if the patient gains weight, new adipocytes may form in other areas of the body as well as in the treated area. It is therefore important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regime after this procedure.

How do I prepare for liposuction of the face and body?
Two to three consultations are necessary to define a surgical plan in collaboration with the patient. This is a privileged moment of exchange that enables us to understand the problems encountered by the patient and to grasp his or her expectations in terms of results.
The consultation also provides an opportunity to analyse the patient’s body to ensure that this procedure is indicated for their specific case, and if necessary whether or not it should be accompanied by any additional procedures, or whether they have any contraindications to this procedure.
Finally, the consultation provides an opportunity to explain the precise procedure to the patient, to take photographs so that simulations can be made of the results of the operation to match the patient’s expectations as closely as possible, and also to give recommendations to be followed before and/or after the operation, including stopping smoking one month before and after the operation (and other medical treatments such as anticoagulants and aspirin), or temporarily suspending certain sporting activities.

What happens after liposuction of the face and body?
After the operation, swelling and bruising of varying degrees appear and persist for 3 to 4 weeks.
The result is therefore not immediately visible on leaving the operating theatre. Compression garments are worn around the liposuctioned areas to allow the skin to reposition itself as well as possible. Pain is relatively moderate.
A week’s rest is recommended. Sport is not recommended for 1 to 2 months after the operation.
What is the cost of liposuction?
This procedure is not covered by the French National Health Insurance as it is purely cosmetic surgery. Only a consultation can enable the surgeon to check that the localised fat storage is not linked to a pathology which, in this case, could only be the subject of a prior agreement with a view to obtaining reimbursement by the health insurance.

Frequently asked questions
What are the risks of liposuction of the face and body?
As with any surgical procedure, complications such as infection, anaesthesia or haematomas may occur. These are not specific to this operation but are common to all surgery performed under general anaesthetic.
Will liposuction of the face and body make my cellulite (orange peel skin) disappear?
Liposuction of the face and body is not intended to treat cellulite (dimpling or orange peel effect). However, it can have the effect of making it disappear totally or partially. This result cannot therefore be guaranteed, unlike the removal of fat.
