Buttock surgery in Paris 7

Specialist in plastic surgery of the buttocks

Flat or hollow buttocks break the harmony of the aesthetic curves of women and men.

Depending on origins, cultures, morphologies and fashions, a shapely buttock is sought after, while buttocks that are too small, flat or hollowed out can be judged as lacking sensuality. Buttock plastic surgery can increase the volume of the buttocks either by lipofilling or by prosthesis, or sometimes by both.

What does buttock plastic surgery involve?

Increasing the shape of the buttocks by implant or fat injection (lipofilling or Brazilian butt lift) restores the aesthetic lines of the figure.

Several solutions are available to increase the volume of the buttocks:

Prostheses have the advantage of allowing a significant increase in the volume of the buttocks without having to resort to liposuction of another area. For slim patients, this will probably be the only solution.
On the other hand, buttock lipofilling is indicated for a moderate increase in the shape of the buttocks or correction of a lateral hollow.
A third non-surgical technique is possible: buttock augmentation using hyaluronic acid. This procedure can be carried out under local anaesthetic.
These three techniques can be combined to perform composite buttock plastic surgery.

How do I prepare for buttock plastic surgery?

Two to three consultations are necessary to define a surgical plan in collaboration with the patient. This is a privileged opportunity to discuss the problems encountered by the patient and to understand his or her expectations in terms of results.

The consultation also provides an opportunity to analyse the patient’s body to ensure that plastic surgery of the buttocks is indicated for his or her specific case. It will also be determined whether or not buttock augmentation will be carried out using lipofilling, prostheses, both or hyaluronic acid injections. It will also be ascertained whether the patient has any contraindications to this procedure.

In the case of lipofilling, the areas to be liposuctioned will be decided in collaboration with the patient. All areas are potentially suitable for liposuction (stomach, hips, saddlebags, thighs, knees, etc.).

Obviously, buttock augmentation by lipofilling is not suitable for patients who are too thin and have no fat reserves. For these patients, buttock augmentation by prosthesis or hyaluronic acid are still possible solutions.

Finally, the consultation provides an opportunity to explain the precise procedure to the patient, to take photographs that will enable simulations of the results of the operation to be made so as to be as close as possible to the patient’s expectations, and also to provide recommendations to be applied before and/or after the operation, in particular stopping smoking one month before and after the operation (and other medical treatments such as anticoagulants and aspirin), or temporarily suspending certain sporting activities.

How does buttock augmentation work?

Buttock augmentation is possible using two alternative methods: lipofilling (reinjection of one’s own fat) or implant placement. Both methods require an overnight stay in hospital. The choice of one method over the other depends on the desired result and whether or not there is any fat to harvest. The consultation will enable us to decide together on the most appropriate method for your case and your expectations in terms of results.

Buttock augmentation with an implant is performed under general anaesthetic via an incision hidden in the gluteal fold. The prosthesis is placed under the buttock muscle to hide the contours of the prosthesis.

Buttock augmentation by implant lasts approximately one hour and thirty minutes, with a short hospital stay (one to two nights).

Liposuction and lipofilling are procedures carried out under general anaesthetic.

Initially, liposuction of the targeted areas is carried out via cannulas inserted into micro-incisions (less than one centimetre) made in the areas to be removed. The fat recovered is treated and purified of impurities (blood and fibrous tissue). This purified fat is then injected via reinjection cannulas into the subcutaneous tissue of the buttocks through micro-incisions.

This procedure does not require large scars, as the liposuction and reinjection cannulas pass through holes just a few millimetres wide.

The duration of the procedure depends on the sites to be removed, the quantity of fat tissue to be transferred and the lipomodelling.

What are the after-effects of buttock plastic surgery?

The result is immediate, the buttocks are reshaped and reshaped.

Oedema and bruising of varying degrees appear following the operation, which generally subside two to three months after the operation. The post-operative volume is therefore greater than it will be for good. In the case of lipofilling, part of the fatty tissue graft may be resorbed. An overcorrection is therefore often planned to ensure that the final result is satisfactory.

Depending on the type of surgery, post-operative pain may be more or less significant. It will be localised to the buttocks and to the liposuction areas in the case of lipofilling.

After the operation, a period of 3 weeks should be allowed during which sitting should be avoided as much as possible so as not to displace the prostheses or crush the transferred fat.

The patient and/or a qualified nurse will wash the scars daily. The skin heals within three weeks, but after the operation, sensitivity problems may appear and last for several months. The final result will not be assessed until 6 months to 1 year after the operation.

Special tights will be worn for 4 weeks. Rest for at least two to three weeks is recommended. Sport is not recommended for 1 to 2 months.

What are the risks of buttock surgery?

As with any surgical procedure, complications such as infection, anaesthesia or haematomas may occur.

How is buttock plastic surgery managed?

Plastic surgery of the buttocks is an exclusively cosmetic procedure that cannot be covered by the French National Health Insurance, except in exceptional cases and rarely by your health insurance company.

What is buttock augmentation and reshaping using hyaluronic acid?

Thanks to hyaluronic acid, it is possible to increase the volume of the buttocks without implants and without plastic surgery on the buttocks. Hyaluronic acid is a natural product which, when injected, supports and increases body tissue.

Buttock augmentation with hyaluronic acid is a non-surgical, virtually painless procedure performed under local anaesthetic. This procedure can significantly improve the shape and volume of the buttocks in all patients.

The hyaluronic acid used is specially designed for buttock augmentation (Hyacorp).

The benefits of buttock augmentation with hyaluronic acid

One of the advantages of buttock augmentation with hyaluronic acid is that the patient can judge and adjust the result. In fact, after the injection, the result is immediate, so it is possible to add more hyaluronic acid if the augmentation is judged to be too modest or if the shape needs to be corrected.

The after-effects of buttock augmentation with hyaluronic acid are very simple. You will be able to resume your normal daily activities, although it is advisable to avoid sitting and sporting activities for a few days.

The effect of hyaluronic acid injections in the buttocks is long-lasting. It is a resorbable product and an additional, but smaller, injection session is required after 16 to 18 months in order to maintain the result obtained.
